BACKSTORY

Since she was a child, Lynn always loved talking to people. She grew up in the small town of Fyfe (details attached). She has a mother named Makira, a brother named Arlo, and a dad who died when she was young (story below). She grew up there, surrounded by people who loved her for her. When she was in grade school, she made a friend named Fallon. Fallon was a tiefling, but he had a human dad and a tiefling mother. Fallon and Lynn were best friends all the way through school and remained friends for the rest of time. They grew up and spent most of their time together. Her and Fallon spent a lot of time guiding adventurers into the labyrinth beneath their town from ages. From age 8, They would guide them through and help them keep from getting lost. In return, the adventures paid the kids. It was good for the adventures because they could spend time getting stronger, and it was good for the kids because they go to explore the maze even more, without having to worry about getting killed by the monsters. By the time they were 15, they had a mental map of every part of the labyrinth they could get too. They hadn't found its limit yet, though. One Lynn's 16th birthday, she decided she wanted to learn how to fight the monsters in the maze herself. Her mom agreed to let her go to the neighboring town, Cru, to go study under a fighter, the condition being that she had to bring Fallon with her. When she asked Fallon, he was excited and agreed immediately. Together, they went to cru and found a level 9 fighter who used dual weapons who ran a tavern. When they asked her to teach them how to be a fighter, she agreed on the condition that they’d work for her at the tavern. They agreed and began living with her, studying under her, and working as the employees at her tavern. Over the course of 2 years, she taught them the basics of everything they could expect in the real world as well as fighting. They were still young kids who had never been farther than a couple miles from their town. They had no idea how the real world worked. Bonnie the tavern owner taught them how to fight as well as what to expect in the real world. She graced them with tales of her adventures. After around two years had passed, Fallon decided that he was going to go on a quest. He wanted to experience this great world he’d been told so much about. He asked Lynn if she could come, but she refused. She wanted to go, but she couldn't give up her goal of mapping out the whole labyrinth. The two best friends were finally going to split apart, but she asked if they could go on one last labyrinth delve together. He agreed, and they went into the labyrinth for the last time. As the tales tell, there's a secret passage that only the locals can get you to, and at the end awaited certain death. The locals would lead adventurers there every so often, but every time the adventures never came back. According to the guide of guides, the guides were under no circumstances to go with the adventurers through that passage as guides. Lynn and Fallon decided that as their one last trip, they would go through that passage and find out what lay at the end. The curiosity inside burned too bright for them to ignore it forever, and what better time than now? They geared up in their fighting armor and began towards the passage. They hurry towards the passage with hushed excitement. What lies at the end? Their tiny teenage brains didn't stop to think about the fact that whatevers killing the adventures could certainly kill them too. They're 18. They slowly pass through the narrow passage of stone, wiping away spider webs everywhere. At the end, which was farther than their darkvision when they were standing at the entrance, there was a tiny, 2 and a half foot tall door leading into black. Of course, they crawl through it. What could be on the other side? Fallon goes first, and Lynn follows behind. When they get inside, they feel an absolutely horrible aura surrounding them. On the other side of the 5 foot crawl passage, there was a huge cavern. They couldn't see the other side even with their darkvision. It’s ceilings were ridiculously high and governed in stalactites. They watch the other side, and see a monstrous figure approaching quickly. It gets into range of their view, and they’re still scared. They'd never seen something so absolutely horrible before. They watched absolutely helplessly as it pointed its finger at Fallon, who was only a foot in front of lynn. Fallon dropped dead to the ground with a thud. Lynn stood in absolute horror as the monster grew nearer. It was over 25 ft high, a towering shadowy figure looming over her. It felt like her soul was being crushed. She grabbed Fallon's body and tried to drag it through the passage. The thing was getting closer and closer, and in her panic she had to drop his body. It was too hard to drag through the narrow tunnel. She scrambled out with tears streaming down her face, but she didn’t notice that. All she could think of was the monster's face. She could remember every horrible detail. She didn't stop to think about anything as she ran through the labyrinth back the way she came. She ran for around 10 minutes straight, but then had to take a break. She slumped onto the filthy floor and stared blankly at the wall in front of her. Her survival instincts kicked in, and they took a toll of where she was. She didn't know where she was. She suddenly realized she was lost in the labyrinth with that thing not more than a 10 minute run away. She got up and just ran, not caring about going the right way. The second only thing she could think was getting away from that monster. SHe ran for another 10 minutes, and then had to stop again. She found a corner and collapsed. She didn't care about anything at this point. She was curled in that corner for half an hour, then an hour, and then two hours. She ended up laying there for 4 hours before anything else happened. A simple spider around the size of her hand approached her. she had destroyed its web and it was angry. When she didn't react to its hissing, it tried to attack her but the armor was too thick. She sat up when it tried this, and she began to pet it. The spider didn't attack at all after this. She finally stood up in silence and grabbed the spider. She put it on her shoulder, not caring if it would bite her neck and poison her at all. She began to walk. She let her years of experience in the caves autopilot her around, and eventually after 5 hours of wandering slowly, she found the exit. She came out covered in spiderwebs and dirt, and it was dark out. She went home, and simply laid in her bed. The spider crawled off of her shoulder and hid under her bed. For the next couple of months, she sulked in her bed, laying down and doing nothing all the time. One day, she noticed the ridiculous spiderwebs under her bed, and remembered the spider from the caves. The reminder sent her mind down a hole she wasn't ready to go back to, but once she gathered enough courage, she grabbed the spider from its new home and pet it. HS decided to name him Fred. She would have conversations with the spider day throughout day. People thought she was going insane, but she really wasn't. While she grieved, she began to read more, and one day, around 9 months after fallon’s death, she came across some writings on a resurrection spell. After a couple days of recovering from this sudden and insane realization, she decided she was gonna find someone who could resurrect her friend. She went back to Bonnie's tavern to regain her strength and get ready to go on her mission. She took fred with her, and gave him a little spot in her backpack. He was content with her and saw her as his web. He had free rein to climb wherever he wanted to and she didn't care. She grew r e a l l y attached to this spider. She was 19 at this point, and had been studying under Bonnie for a while, recovering the strength she had lost in the previous months. After a bit, she’d regained her friendliness and she could laugh again. This is where her story leaves off. She's 19 years old, working at a tavern, and training to be a fighter. (She’s pretty unmotivated, so that's why she never leveled up past level one when she was training. She never had any field experience in fighting, and when they went back to actually get field experience, fallon died, so she wasn't able to get any experience.)(also fun fact they sent in guides to fetch fallon’s body from the labyrinth.
